In the Dead of Winter

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

I'll admit that winter tends to be a little slow in the world of outdoor canine photography when you live in New England (at least for me). Maybe its because I'm naturally more withdrawn in the winter months, so I don't advertise as much? But I mean who wants photos of dead trees and brown grass anyway? But is it really that bleak? I'm challenging my own perceptions and going to say no, I don't think so! Pine trees, fir trees and holly, are green and lush all winter. Freshly falling snow is absolutely gorgeous and then add the warmth of the sun shimmering off the snowy trees, breathtaking! My mission this winter is to show that even in the cold depths of January beautiful shots can be had. During this slow time I like to focus on my education and learning as many skills as possible. So I will be using that time to develop and improve my photographic know how taking another masterful course, and come spring with some hard work I will emerge better than I was.

With learning comes doing, so I will need something to shoot. Attention all dog owners! This is a modeling call!
