Canine Portraits
For the Love That Follows You Everywhere
They are woven into the rhythm of everyday life, beside us for the ordinary moments that somehow become the ones we miss most. These portraits are created to preserve their personality, their presence, and the unmistakable bond that makes them part of your story.
A Celebration of Your Companion
Dogs are part of our families, our routines, and often our greatest comfort. A portrait session is a chance to preserve that relationship in a way that lasts long after muddy paws and wagging tails have become treasured memories.

Portrait sessions are designed with finished artwork in mind, allowing your images to live beyond the screen as part of your home and everyday life.
Following your session, you’ll attend a personalized viewing and ordering appointment where you’ll see a curated gallery of approximately 15–25 finished portraits and explore fine art framing, wall art, albums, and print options.
A complimentary web-sized digital image is included with any purchased artwork piece.
Most clients invest between $500–$3,000+ on their finished artwork and portrait collections. Because every session and home is different, artwork selections are fully customized to your preferences and space.
Signature wall art pieces include a signed certificate of authenticity as part of their final presentation.
-
Most canine portrait sessions take place at one of five pre-selected locations chosen for their scenic beauty and suitability for portrait photography.
You can learn more about each location on the Service Area page. If there's a special place you'd like to include in your session, please reach out and I'd be happy to explore the possibilities with you.
Travel beyond 20 miles of Grafton, Massachusetts may require an additional travel fee.

I couldn’t believe the quality of the photos, just perfection.
“Unbelievably talented photographer! Tricia was the nicest, so calm, and patient with our little pup Ranger. I couldn’t believe the quality of the photos, just perfection. Ranger was on a collar and a leash, and she magically made him look like he was a free roaming pup! Just excellence. Thank you so much for the lifelong memories!”
Frequently Asked Questions
-
That's completely okay. Most dogs are not expected to perform perfect obedience commands during their session. My approach is patient and flexible, allowing time for dogs to settle into the environment naturally. Some of the most meaningful images come from candid moments rather than perfectly posed ones.
-
No. For safety, dogs remain on leash throughout the session. A lightweight lead is often used and can be removed during the editing process when appropriate.
-
Dogs don't need to perform on command for a successful session. My goal is to work with your dog's personality rather than against it. Patience, flexibility, and experience allow me to capture beautiful portraits even when things don't go exactly as planned.
-
Neutral tones, timeless styles, and clothing that complements your dog's coloring typically photograph beautifully. For more detailed recommendations, please refer to the What to Wear Guide included in your client resources.
-
Your artwork viewing appointment will be scheduled following your session. During this appointment, you'll view your portraits, select your favorites, and explore artwork options for your home. May take up to 4-6 weeks after your session, this is usually due to waiting for the proofs to be received by me from the print lab.
-
I recommend bringing water, treats, waste bags, and any favorite toys that may help keep your dog's attention. A grooming brush and towel can also be helpful, particularly after travel or outdoor walks. Please ensure your pup is treated for ticks/fleas.
For humans, please also bring water, bug spray and dress appropriately for the environment/weather.
