Artwork for a Life Well Loved

Portrait Experiences for Dog Lovers, Horse Owners & High School Seniors

Life is made up of relationships. The ones that ground us, challenge us, comfort us, and quietly become part of who we are.

Whether you're celebrating a beloved dog, the partnership you share with your horse, or the milestone of your senior year, each portrait experience is created with the same purpose: to preserve this chapter of your story as meaningful artwork for your home.

Every portrait begins with a relationship.

Whether you're celebrating the quiet companionship of a beloved dog, the partnership you share with your horse, or the milestone of your senior year, every portrait experience begins the same way: with time, intention, and a genuine connection.

There is no rush, no pressure to perform, and no expectation that everything will unfold perfectly. Instead, you'll be guided through a relaxed experience that allows authentic moments to emerge naturally, resulting in artwork that reflects the relationships that matter most.

Every life is different. Every portrait experience is too.

  • Canine Portrait Experience

Timeless portraits that celebrate the personality, loyalty, and joy your dog brings to your life.

  • Equine Portrait Experience

Celebrate the partnership, presence, and quiet connection you share with your horse.

  • Senior Portrait Experience

An experience designed to celebrate this milestone and the people and animals who helped shape the journey.

No matter which portrait experience you choose, every session follows the same thoughtful process from inquiry to finished artwork.

How it Works

  • A girl with long dark hair in a light gray coat and floral dress sitting on grass under a tree, leaning toward a brown and white horse with a patch on its neck, touching foreheads, with a wooden fence in the background and sunlight creating a warm glow.

    Step 1: Reserve Your Session

A limited number of sessions are accepted each month to ensure every client receives a highly personalized experience from planning through final artwork.

Once your session is reserved, we’ll begin designing your portrait experience together. From location selection and wardrobe guidance to understanding the relationship you share with your horse, every detail is approached with intention and care.

  • Close-up of two horses, one brown and one white, touching noses outdoors with a blurred background.

    Step 2: Planning & Preparation

Before your session, we’ll discuss the overall vision for your portraits, including location, styling, timing, and the atmosphere you’re drawn to most.

Whether your session takes place in open fields, wooded trails, at the barn, or in a carefully chosen outdoor setting, the goal is to create imagery that feels refined, natural, and personal to you.

You’ll also receive preparation guidance to help you feel relaxed and fully prepared before session day arrives.

  • A young woman with red hair, wearing a black shirt, jeans, and a necklace, is lying on a brown horse, petting its neck and smiling. The background shows an outdoor setting with blurred trees and autumn colors.

    Step 3: Your Portrait Session

Your session is designed to feel calm, natural, and unhurried.

Working in carefully selected outdoor locations and natural light, I’ll guide you through the experience while allowing space for genuine interaction and connection to unfold naturally. The result is imagery that feels refined, emotional, and deeply personal without appearing overly posed.

  • A woman standing next to a white horse in a lush green outdoor setting, holding the horse's bridle and looking to the right.

    Step 4: Artful Retouching

Following your session, your portraits are carefully reviewed and individually refined by hand.

Each image receives thoughtful attention to color, light, composition, and detail while preserving the natural feeling of the moment itself. The editing process is designed to enhance the artwork without overwhelming it, creating portraits that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.

Your finished gallery is typically ready within several weeks of your session.

  • A woman with gray hair hugging a black horse outdoors with autumn trees in the background.

    Step 5: Your Viewing Appointment

Once your gallery is complete, we’ll meet for a personalized viewing and ordering appointment.

This is where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and select the artwork that feels most meaningful for your home. I’ll guide you through wall art, framed pieces, albums, and fine art print options while helping you choose sizes and arrangements that fit your space beautifully.

The experience is designed to feel approachable, collaborative, and tailored entirely to you.

  • A beige horse with a light-colored mane standing in a lush green forest, looking to the side.

Step 6: Artwork Designed to Last

Your finished artwork is produced through a professional print lab using archival materials selected for both beauty and longevity.

From framed wall art to fine art prints and heirloom albums, each piece is created to live beyond the screen and become part of your everyday surroundings for years to come.

There is something entirely different about seeing these moments exist physically within your home, where they can be revisited long after the session itself has passed.

These portraits are created with the intention of being enjoyed long after the session is over. Whether displayed as a framed statement piece, preserved in a handcrafted album, or shared through a keepsake print box, your artwork becomes a lasting reminder of this season of life.

“I can't recommend Tricia Charles Photography enough! I was nervous going into my session because I don't usually enjoy being in front of a camera, but Tricia immediately put both me and my animals at ease. She not only captured beautiful photos of my horses, but also incorporated my dog into the session seamlessly. Her patience, talent, and ability to work with animals truly shine through in every image. When I received the photos, I was absolutely blown away. She perfectly captured the bond I share with my animals, and the results were beyond anything I could have imagined. These are memories I'll cherish forever. Thank you, Tricia!”

“Tricia is an amazingly talented photographer! Her style highlights the beauty of her subject, in our case it was my daughter and her horse. She was able to really capture the bond between these two in such beautiful ways! Her use of the natural landscape made for a beautiful backdrop as well.
