Equine Portraits,

Thoughtfully Created

Natural settings. Honest connection.

Artwork designed to last beyond the screen.

Your horse has shaped seasons of your life

in ways few people fully Understand.

Living room scene with beige sofa, purple pillows, glass and wood coffee table, green plants, and wall art of a woman with a white horse outdoors.

The quiet routines, the trust built over years, and the connection that exists without words deserve more than photographs left on a phone.

My approach to equine portraiture is thoughtful, natural, and horse-led, creating imagery that reflects both the beauty of your horse and the relationship you share.

My goal is to create honest artwork, photograph with patience and care, and preserve the moments that matter most.

The result is artwork designed to be enjoyed for years to come.

If you really don’t like being in photos,

I Can change your mind

I promise.

“Can you photograph only my horse?”

Yes, absolutely. But,

Some clients prefer portraits focused entirely on their horse, while others choose to step into a few images together. Both are equally welcome.

I do often encourage clients to consider being photographed alongside their horse, even briefly. The quiet connection between horse and rider, the trust, familiarity, and small in-between moments, often become the images people treasure most over time.

And if being in front of the camera feels intimidating, you’re not alone. My approach to posing, light, and composition is designed to create portraits that feel natural, comfortable, and flattering without feeling forced.

Whether your session centers on your horse alone or the connection you share together, the experience will always be thoughtful, relaxed, and tailored to you both.

“My horse can’t be loose…”

That’s completely okay. Most horses are not photographed loose during sessions.

Your horse’s safety and comfort always come first, and unless we are working in a secure enclosed area, horses remain safely handled throughout the session.

I use a fine, unobtrusive lead designed specifically for equine photography that allows for gentle control while remaining minimal in the final image. Any visible elements can then be carefully removed during the finishing process.

There is often more happening behind the scenes than appears in the finished portrait, but the final artwork is created to feel natural, relaxed, and seamless.

How it Works

  • A girl with long dark hair in a light gray coat and floral dress sitting on grass under a tree, leaning toward a brown and white horse with a patch on its neck, touching foreheads, with a wooden fence in the background and sunlight creating a warm glow.

    Step 1: Reserve Your Session

A limited number of sessions are accepted each month to ensure every client receives a highly personalized experience from planning through final artwork.

Once your session is reserved, we’ll begin designing your portrait experience together. From location selection and wardrobe guidance to understanding the relationship you share with your horse, every detail is approached with intention and care.

  • Close-up of two horses, one brown and one white, touching noses outdoors with a blurred background.

    Step 2: Planning & Preparation

Before your session, we’ll discuss the overall vision for your portraits, including location, styling, timing, and the atmosphere you’re drawn to most.

Whether your session takes place in open fields, wooded trails, at the barn, or in a carefully chosen outdoor setting, the goal is to create imagery that feels refined, natural, and personal to you.

You’ll also receive preparation guidance to help you feel relaxed and fully prepared before session day arrives.

  • A young woman with red hair, wearing a black shirt, jeans, and a necklace, is lying on a brown horse, petting its neck and smiling. The background shows an outdoor setting with blurred trees and autumn colors.

    Step 3: Your Portrait Session

Your session is designed to feel calm, natural, and unhurried.

Working in carefully selected outdoor locations and natural light, I’ll guide you through the experience while allowing space for genuine interaction and connection to unfold naturally. The result is imagery that feels refined, emotional, and deeply personal without appearing overly posed.

  • A woman standing next to a white horse in a lush green outdoor setting, holding the horse's bridle and looking to the right.

    Step 4: Artful Retouching

Following your session, your portraits are carefully reviewed and individually refined by hand.

Each image receives thoughtful attention to color, light, composition, and detail while preserving the natural feeling of the moment itself. The editing process is designed to enhance the artwork without overwhelming it, creating portraits that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.

Your finished gallery is typically ready within several weeks of your session.

  • A woman with gray hair hugging a black horse outdoors with autumn trees in the background.

    Step 5: Your Viewing Appointment

Once your gallery is complete, we’ll meet for a personalized viewing and ordering appointment.

This is where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and select the artwork that feels most meaningful for your home. I’ll guide you through wall art, framed pieces, albums, and fine art print options while helping you choose sizes and arrangements that fit your space beautifully.

The experience is designed to feel approachable, collaborative, and tailored entirely to you.

  • A beige horse with a light-colored mane standing in a lush green forest, looking to the side.

Step 6: Artwork Designed to Last

Your finished artwork is produced through a professional print lab using archival materials selected for both beauty and longevity.

From framed wall art to fine art prints and heirloom albums, each piece is created to live beyond the screen and become part of your everyday surroundings for years to come.

There is something entirely different about seeing these moments exist physically within your home, where they can be revisited long after the session itself has passed.
